Ghana was the departure point for more enslaved Africans than almost anywhere else on the continent. The slave castles at Cape Coast and Elmina hold the memory of the millions who were taken. In 2019, Ghana was also the first African nation to invite the diaspora home through the "Year of Return". Since then, thousands have made the journey to the continent and many have stayed. But Ghana is more than its history of loss. It is a place of extraordinary vibrancy, generosity, and cultural richness. This is why we begin here.
