We will visit the famous Aburi Botanical Garden where we will learn of the various benefits derived from various plants in the Garden. This tour is recommended for lovers of botanical plants and wants to know more about their uses. The Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa farm will be our next stop for this tour. This farm is where the first cocoa tree was planted. We will see the process the cocoa goes through to get the final products used for chocolates.

Day 1

Aburi Gardens

Aburi garden is a very beautiful and popular destination found on the hills of Aburi in the Eastern part of Ghana, a few kilometers away from the main city, Accra. The garden is made up of hundreds of plants which have a lot of medicinal uses, some of which are used to cure many illnesses. They are used to make different spices and are also used for beautification purposes. There is also a carved tree which looks like a real dead tree which represents the struggles of life. Most of the trees were planted by some colonial masters, and other important person leaders around Africa.

Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farm

Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farm is located at Akuapem Mampong, in the Eastern part of Ghana. Tourists get to experience a demonstration of the actual planting of cocoa seeds, the processes undertaken by the farmer, the harvesting and drying of the seeds and pods. The tour guide walks tourists through the farm whiles pondering on the various stages of cocoa processing into raw cocoa powder to the stage from which the Ghanaian and other industries manufacture the world’s favourite chocolates, ice creams and many other chocolate products.

Adom Waterfalls

This attraction can be found in Obosomase, located in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The Waterfall is also known as Obosomase waterfalls which runs on stratified rocks into a clear pool. The falls flows through a forest which used to be a home for the indigenous Ghanaian people 400 years ago. The waterfall is in two parts which are; the lower falls and the upper falls. To see this beautiful attraction, tourists would have to hike on a hill for about 40 minutes to arrive at the falls.
